Are you someone who loves good music and who’d love to discover the next big rising star? Or part of a band or a singer-songwriter with creative talent? Then check out The Valley Music Showcase at New City Brewery in Easthampton, MA. The Showcase is a fun bi-monthly juried live performance event produced by Mark Sherry and designed to show off exciting new talent in the W.Mass/Central MA Central CT/S. Vermont (“The Learning Corridor”) area and give them some assistance in propelling their careers forward. Every other month 5 bands and/or solo or duos drawn from all musical genres grace the stage (plus a 6th “Special Guest”). These performers are chosen to compete because they are some of the most talented musicians in the region. Judges include local celebrities (elected officials- e.g., mayors, State Senators, well known musicians, DJs, and other local figures). Prizes are awarded at each event for 1st & 2nd place & Best Original Song— thanks to our many generous sponsors.
A “Playoff Finals” featuring the 4 winners of the 2020 Showcase events will be held to determine the “Grand Prize Winners” who’ll receive: 30 hrs of recording time at Northfire Studios in Amherst, MA, and 10 hrs of recording time at Rotary Records in Amherst, shoot a music video at Focus Springfield in Springfield, MA, get a custom-designed website and professional photo shoot from Cider House Media in Easthampton, MA, receive a marketing consulting package from PRIA Music Marketing, a top of the line Telefunken microphone/equipment package, a custom t-shirt package from Mantis Graphics, appear live on LAZER 99.3FM, & win many hundreds of dollars in other prizes.
These events provide an opportunity to see the many talented and creative performers that we’re privileged to have in Western New England & to allow these performers to create a buzz that can help kick-start their performing careers.

Johnny Cab formed in 2016 when Chris Indigo (vocals), threw a Halloween party & longtime friend David Carrier (guitar), showed up by surprise. In between emptying the punch bowl & bobbing for apples, they decided to put a new band together. They put out call for a rhythm section. Steve Dayn’jirus! (drums) & Jeremy Smith (bass) jumped on board. Their fast-rising energetic sound is quickly gaining them recognition on the East Coast.

The Moon Shells are Maggie Shar, Brian Slattery, Laura Murawski, Molly Merrett, & Charlie Shaw. We met through the community of musicians who play Appalachian fiddle music, & set about creating a band to play original songs.
